B. Information Collected Automatically:
  • Click Analytics: When a visitor clicks a shortened link or accesses a file download link, we record the event to update link analytics (namely, counting total traffic/visits, unique user clicks, and the date/time the link was last opened).
  • Browser Storage Keys: If you use our services as a guest, we generate a randomized guest identifier (xli:guest_id) which is saved in your browser's local storage. This enables us to save and present your "Recent Links" history only to you, without requiring account registration.
  • Authentication Cookies: When you log into an account, secure cookies are set to manage your session.

3. Content Storage & Data Sharing Disclosures

To provide reliable services, XLink works with specific systems:

A. Link Shortening System (xli.lat):

To shorten URLs and compute link analytics, our platform communicates with our sister domain/API xli.lat. Basic link data and redirection parameters are transmitted securely via API keys.

B. File Sharing Storage (Our Databases):

Files uploaded via XLink are transferred and stored securely within our database storage systems.

LIABILITY WARNING: By using our file sharing tools, you acknowledge that uploaded files are stored in our secure database systems and made public (read-only) so that anyone with the short link can access and download them. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the necessary copyrights and permissions for any files you upload. XLink strictly prohibits the sharing of copyrighted materials without authorization, illegal contents, viruses, or malicious files.

4. How We Use Your Information

We process your data strictly to execute our core services and maintain platform safety:

  • To successfully redirect short links, render QR codes, and deliver uploaded files.
  • To show analytics (total traffic/clicks, unique visitor counts, and last opened timestamps) on your dashboard page.
  • To send system updates, verification emails, and password recovery links via secure email channels.
  • To block malicious links, detect bot networks, and defend against platform abuse.

5. Data Retention & Security

Security Actions: We use standard industry protections, including HTTPS data encryption in transit, secure access tokens, and salted passwords.

Retention Times: Account credentials and saved links/QR codes are retained for as long as your account remains active. Uploaded files remain stored on our database systems until you choose to delete them, or until they are removed due to inactivity or terms-of-service violations.

Auto-Cleanup Policy: To keep our platforms fast and secure, any link or asset with no traffic for 7 consecutive days will automatically expire and be permanently deleted.

6. Your Rights and Control (GDPR & CCPA Compliance)

You hold rights over how your personal data and assets are handled:

  • Asset Management and Deletion: You have full control over your saved assets. You can review and delete individual shortened links, QR codes, and files directly from your dashboard at any time. Once deleted, these assets are permanently removed.
  • Account Deletion: If you wish to delete your account entirely, please contact us at the support channels below, and we will purge your email, username, and all saved links/files from our databases.
  • Opt-Out Options: You can clear or reject cookies or localStorage identifiers via your browser settings, though doing so may disable session persistence or access to your "Recent Links" history.
